Sea Day 11-1-16

Debbie and I are always amazed at the costumes we see for Halloween on the ships.  This cruise I think takes the prize.  Sitting in the casino last night watching the passenger costumes walk through…even the crew wanted their photos with some of them!  I have to say Carnival did a good job of decorating the ship and even the photo backdrops were Halloween inspired with light up props as well.  We both had our Halloween shirts and earrings on but on this ship we were way under dressed!  We had a fun night even though we didn’t win in the casino.

Now… the noise in the hallways in the late night/early morning hours on this ship is so bad we considered calling security if there was a chance they would do anything but figured they wouldn’t…..or wouldn’t show up before they all ended their “Viva Puerto Rico” chants and singing.  We have found the passengers to be loud, rude and obnoxious on this ship.  We have met some nice people as well but they are in the minority here as are we.  It is this ship because we did not have this issue last cruise.
Back to the facts ma’am.  We wanted this to be a lazy day but it didn’t turn out that way.  We went to the sea day brunch for breakfast then went to the slot tournament ….we did NOT qualify in either round.  After it ended we thought it would be empty on lido by then so we went to eat lunch.  It was so crowded in there we couldn’t even find a place to sit.  We sat with another couple who told us the pool was closed which was why everyone was in there.  Really Carnival?  One sea day and the pool closed with all these kids?  Yikes!  Tonight is formal night.  Debbie and I went back to the casino although it is so smokey you can barely stand to be in there, at least there are no kids running through there.  Neither of us are having any luck so we came back to the cabin.  We looked at each other and decided to ditch the elegant night attire and go to lido for dinner and then watch a movie and sleep.  Neither of us slept the night before with all the noise in the hall.  That was when the storms started.  We are both fascinated (on the Fascination) with storms at sea.  It poured rain and lightening and thundered for 8 straight hours.  All night the cabin was lit up like it was daylight outside…pretty wild.  Although it was quieter earlier tonight in the hall, I couldn’t sleep so about the time we were coming into Barbados was when we fell asleep.

The waiters were so proud of their deserts they worked on for Halloween.

The only show we saw so far was for kids...very cute though.

We got our Platinum gifts and thought they looked
better on the Towel Animals!
