I woke up before Debbie this morning just before 6 AM. We had ordered room service coffee for 7 AM
so I went out on the balcony to take some photos of us coming into
Martinique. Lots of storm clouds and it
is raining off and on. This is a French island
and we have been warned by the crew that the beaches are nude so that we are
not shocked if we go there. The weather
does not really get better all day but Debbie and I do get off and go into
town. Debbie was right…there isn’t a lot
to see or do here and most everyone else must have thought so too since there
were more people coming back to the ship than getting off. We did walk around a bit but came back to the
ship by lunch. The ocean water here is
very dirty…a tribute to its French citizens.
We did take some photos and watched some fish jumping out of the water
near the pier. We did not know what kind
of fish they were.
We ate lunch on the ship and Debbie said she wanted a
cobbler for desert. She surveyed the
desert area and didn’t see anything that she wanted and about then we saw a
lady walk by with blueberry cobbler so we were on a quest to find it! We eventually found it Kay and it was yummy…tasted
like the pie we had in Maine.
Now it is mid afternoon and we are in the cabin and I am
writing the blog and Debbie is working on photos before we get ready for
dinner. The show tonight is a magic…not
my favorite thing but we will probably go.
Captain Kate loves Confucius so each day has been giving us
sayings. One day it was “Woman who drive
like bat out of hell, bound to get there” and today’s was “Woman who put
husband in dog house find him later in cat house”. Tomorrow is Dominica.
PS...the pictures are not uploading so we will try again later but at least you have the blog!
Oooo, now I'm really jealous. I LOVE blueberry cobbler! And pie, of course.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I guess I do want to meet the captain, after all. Love her pithy sayings. :)
Can't wait for more photos. Headed to WV tomorrow. Keep having fun for me!
If I remember correctly I liked a street market in Martinique, somewhere off the beaten path. Looking forward to photos - but happy to read your adventures.
ReplyDeleteComing back around to see the photos. I just love the Caribbean colors!
