Needless to say Debbie and I had a rough night trying to
sleep after our late night chocolate martinis.
When we finally fell asleep it was after 3 AM so we didn’t wake up the
first time until 9:30 AM and neither of us were in a hurry to move. After a round of pain killers for each of us,
we dressed and went to lido to get some coffee.
Our cabin is on deck 7 just off the elevators at midship…the most
convenient location we have had on ship in awhile. It really is perfect on this ship as
everything is easy to get to from here.
We had an invitation to the Captain’s Club to meet the officers
for the Elite, Elite Plus and Zenith Celebrity Club members. I have wanted to meet the Captain since she
is a woman. She is the most personable
person I believe I have ever met. She
took time with each and every person in line to speak to her and posed for photos
and you never felt she was rushing you.
Debbie and I were pleasantly surprised as all the officers were
congenial and chatty. You don’t
generally see that much although I do think all the cruise lines are trying
harder to make them be more accessible and friendly. We spoke with one of the female officers from
South Africa for nearly 20 minutes and she was very nice. They of course like to recognize people
onboard who have sailed the most with Celebrity. There is a gentleman who was at the top of
list with 1,179 cruises with Celebrity…and he has 42 already booked for next
year. I need to get to know him.
We played in the casino for a while then walked through the
shops to see if there was anything we couldn’t live without….there wasn’t although Debbie did spend a good bit of time
in the makeup and fragrance store. We
have dinner reservations at one of the specialty restaurants so we head back to
the cabin to start getting ready for dinner.
The name of this place is QSine and it is kind of like
tappas. The head waiter took a liking to
us and he asked us a few questions about things we liked and he asked if he
could pick out our items for us..we agreed.
We had rosemary and olive oil pull apart brea, a crab cake, some kind of
shrimp salad, then a fried goat cheese salad with pomegranate dressing, then
sushi pops, then a window box full of twelve different things from meatballs to
lamb chops. We pulled the plug after
that because we were full but they would have kept bringing food. Apparently they have 150 items. Our desert was Cheesecaketini for Debbie and
I got the cupcake which they bring in a box and with little piping bags
and a bunch of different sprinkles and
pop rocks sugar to decorate your own cupcakes.
It was fun and very different but I don’t think I would do it again.
After dinner we went to the Shade of Buble show which was
three guys who sang Michael Buble songs.
It was ok but Debbie and I were tired.
We played a bit in the casino then headed back to the cabin. It was a fun day three and our only sea day!

ReplyDeleteWas it the chocolate or the martini that had you under?
42 cruises for next year alone? Wow!! Forget the captain; he's the one I want to meet.
Now I understand sushi lollipops! And the presentation is always so dramatic - I love it.
